About Us

A Real Korean Kitchen at Jinmee

At Jinmee, the day starts long before the doors open. Pork bones and beef bones go into the stockpots the night before and come down slowly until the broth turns milky, rounded, and deep enough to stand on its own — no powders, no shortcuts, no reheated base. Kimchi ferments in our own crocks on its own schedule, doenjang and gochujang are balanced by hand rather than by recipe card, and the banchan that lands on your table is cut and seasoned in our kitchen that same morning. Every stew is finished to order in its own earthenware pot, so it reaches you still bubbling at the rim, the way it would at a family table in Seoul. On the iron plate, LA galbi, bulgogi jungsik, and stir-fried chicken meet high heat fast, for a clean char rather than a heavy sauce. From the 8 AM breakfast bowls through the all-day mains and the soup-only orders, the standard never shifts: deeper broth, honest portions, side dishes that keep coming, and the unmistakable taste of Korean home cooking done properly.

Authentic Korean Comfort Food on Yonge Street

Jinmee Korean Cuisine brings Thornhill the kind of Korean cooking that families actually eat at home. Our kitchen fires up before sunrise, drawing pork and beef bones down for hours until the broth turns milky and deep. Order gamjatang, haejangguk, sundubu jjigae, or a sizzling hot-pot bibimbap, and it lands on your table with a full spread of house-made banchan. Whether you slip in for an 8 AM breakfast bowl, a quick soup-only lunch, or an unhurried dinner with the whole table, you will find something honest, warming, and generously portioned waiting for you.

Slow Broth, Hand-Cut Banchan, Honest Portions

Depth of flavour is what we chase here every single day. Kimchi ferments in our own crocks, doenjang and gochujang are balanced by hand, and each stew is finished to order in its own earthenware pot so it reaches you still bubbling. On the grill side, LA galbi, bulgogi jungsik, and fiery stir-fried chicken hit high heat for the clean char Koreans recognise instantly. Come alone for a quiet lunch or bring the whole family for dinner — the welcome is the same, and the side dishes never stop coming.
